New beginnings

Two years ago, I was at the beginning of my coaching apprenticeship, tasked with an exercise to write a ‘future letter to myself’ focusing on where I wanted to be once I had completed the course.

The aim of the exercise was simple: to think about (and perhaps manifest) what I wanted to achieve, and who I wanted to be by the time I’d qualified as a coach.

It turned out to be a life-defining moment. I wrote about what I hoped to accomplish with coaching, how I wanted to support my coachees to lead better lives, my love for learning about the way humans think, feel and act, and building my self-belief to help others find theirs too.

I’m blessed and privileged to say that everything in the letter came true.

And two years on from writing the letter, and with my coaching qualification under my belt, I’m proud to see my coaching website go live - the next chapter in my coaching journey.

Choosing the name of the company

I didn’t realise it at the time, but I had inadvertently referred to it at the end of my letter, which I auspiciously signed as Coach Simon.

The business is so important and personal to me - who I am and what I want to achieve - I had to put my name to it.

As a transformation coach and a three-time cancer survivor, my mission is to transform lives, using my purpose, skills and life experience to help people and teams to uncover their greatness.

Because we’re all great - but sometimes our thoughts and self-limiting beliefs get in the way and stop us becoming the person we were always meant to be. But I believe that with the power of coaching, which can help change our thinking, we can uncover - and indeed, rediscover - the greatness that’s been there all along.

I work with PR agencies, in-house comms teams and PR professionals, combining my 18 years’ comms experience with coaching to drive performance and results.

Whether it’s helping people to overcome self-doubt, imposter syndrome, build resilience, have better relationships, or become leaders and own their leadership style, I bring positivity, passion, curiosity and challenge to help people and teams achieve their goals.

And I want to use my first-hand experience of cancer to help other survivors, and those who feel lost or stuck, to regain control of their lives, redefine who they are, or choose a new career—so they can be free and live a life they truly want.

In many ways, it feels like I’ve been working towards this all my life, and I’m ready to write the next chapter of my story.

My name is Coach Simon, and I’m here to change lives and uncover greatness.
