Why focussing on your strengths can lead to happier thinking and a more purposeful life.

Who are you? Who are you – really?
It’s a common question I ask my clients during a coaching session.
And the usual response I receive in reply is… their job title!
Followed by how proficient they're with PowerPoint, Excel, and so on.
But that’s not who they are. A job description isn’t who they are.
It’s a question I ask my clients when they’re feeling stuck or when they’ve lost their sense of purpose, either through cancer or being in a fixed mindset about how they see themselves.
It’s a simple but powerful question that forces them to look inwards.
It makes them hold up a mirror to their strengths, their passion, and ultimately what makes them unique.
It helps them to rediscover who they are, what they love, and often, what they hate, the life they’re trying to escape, and the new world they want to build.
And this leads to options and bolder thinking about what they could do next with their lives.
It opens up possibilities and the practical steps they can take to move closer to their goals and the life they truly want.
Do it yourself.
Ask yourself, who am I? Who am I, really?
Write down 10 things that make you, you. You might be surprised by what you come up with and where it may lead you.
